2) Castaneda's Field Notes A comment about Castaneda's missing anthropological Field Notes:
|
It was brought to my attention that the secret link to Castaneda's Field
Notes has been found and that there are questions as to their
authenticity and why they were hidden to begin with. The hidden field notes that appear on this web site prove nothing. They are not evidence of a real don Juan and nor were they intended to be. I simply thought it would be fun to hide them as a bonus (similar to a DVD Easter Egg) and didn't feel they merited more mention than that. Actually, I'm surprised to hear that anyone is discussing them seriously to begin with. I assumed they would have already been well circulated and included them for general audiences to find, not as any new "evidence" for those deeply involved in this subject. As far as learning more into the history of these documents, you'll have to speak with David Christie to know more about that. The copies I received from him were photocopies, which I scanned and kept in my pc until I posted them to this web site. David's materials were then returned to him, and our contract only permits their use in connection with the promotion of, or their appearance in, my film. It appears to be Castaneda's handwriting to me, but that doesn't prove when they were written or where. David seems like a nice enough guy and I imagine he'd answer any questions posed to him about their origins. Thank you |
